Ten million dollars ABOVE asking. Yes, that actually happened.
At 20 Cherry Street in Presidio Heights, the asking price was $18,500,000. The October 22 closing price? $28,500,000. That’s a $10,000,000 jump, or 54.05% over asking, reportedly San Francisco’s biggest overbid by dollar amount.
The 1966 midcentury estate sits along the Presidio Wall on roughly 13,447 square feet of land. Eight bedrooms, a private garden, a three-car garage, and more than four decades in the same family. Good luck finding another property with that much land along the Presidio.
And the street had already been busy. A week earlier, 120 Cherry Street closed at $17,150,000 on a $14,000,000 ask. Another $3,150,000 over.
Two homes on Cherry Street, $13,150,000 combined over asking. That’ll get your attention…
