Condo Lottery is a wrap, who missed out? You did? Oh, and you? and you, and you, and you, and you…make it stop!

As many of you already know, and possibly experienced firsthand, the city’s condo conversion lottery just wrapped up. Although we’d like to think there are many happy people on the winning list, we have to assume being there is bitter sweet. And not being there is just plain wrong.

…and to Mr. Ted Gullicksen of the San Francisco Tenants Union, who said, “”Every time a unit is converted, tenants lose their homes,”, Chopper Reid has a few words for you…say it with him now…”Harden the f**k up!.

Have a great weekend, we’re out!

  1. Why are there 2 unit buildings among the lottery winners? I thought 2 unit buildings could bypass the lottery.

  2. Roberto,

If both units are not owner occupied, these 2 unit buildings still need to go into the lottery. Good thing to know as you shop for TICs. To bypass lottery, both units must be owner occupied for 1 full year, then you can apply for subdivision (condo conversion).

  3. On the two unit conversions, it’s also necessary for there to be one owner in each unit who owns 25% of the building.
