When a buyer truly has their heart set on the ideal San Francisco home, not much will stand in their way.
That’s how we end up with overbids, including this week’s top spot at 144 Idora Avenue, a four bed, three bath, Forest Hill Crafsman home from 1926 that sold this week for $2.5 million even, a nearly 48 percent hike over its initial price of $1.69 million and change.
This is actually not the first time 144 Idora commanded top dollar: It last sold back in 2015 in another impressive overbid, initially asking $1.27 million but fetching $1.6 million.
Pretty impressive in its own right, but that’s “only” a 25 percent spillover or so, whereas this time the bidding went all out.
