Photo Finish For Weekly Overbids

Just when you think you’ve seen it all in overbid terms, something can still surprise you.

Case in point, it was looking like the top overbid spot for the week would go to 1235 22nd Avenue, a fetching three bed, 1.5 bath Sunset house that sold this week for $1.57-plus million, nearly 44 percent over the $1.09-plus million the place listed for back in August.

But it turns out this is not actually the winner: Top honors should rightfully go to 177 Belgrave, a spectacular hillside Cole Valley whopper with three beds, two baths, and, as of this week, a $4.6 million price tag, more than 60 percent higher than the $2.99-plus million it listed for over a month ago.

The Goods still lists the house as pending sale, so it didn’t land on our chart below. But the MLS listing for the place confirms both the sale and the dizzying price spike it enjoyed.

Sorry, 1235 22nd Avenue, but you’ve been bested in our very own “Dewey Defeats Truman”-style dead heat–although you do have more than $1.5 million to tide you over.
