Comment Policy

As of 1/16/2008 comments will no longer be moderated. As always, you are free to say whatever you like in the comments of each post, but as of now we take no responsibility whatsoever for what is said in any and all comments, unless stated otherwise as an “Editor’s note”. We STRONGLY encourage you to be civil towards your fellow readers.

We will periodically be checking comments to monitor for “spam”, which will be deleted right away. (What we consider spam may not be what you consider spam.) Although we encourage everyone, including real estate agents and mortgage brokers to participate in the comments, any blatant “plugs” or links to your own personal site or listing will be deleted at the editor’s discretion. This includes other bloggers. You are, of course, free to link to your site in the “url” field provided when commenting, as long as your comments are on topic.

If you get into a heated discussion with someone, be prepared to defend yourself and certainly don’t ask us to defend you. You’re all grown ups (so we assume), so try to keep things civil, have fun, and share insight. PLEASE do your best to be kind to your fellow readers and make every effort possible to avoid conflict towards each other and any other people “out there”.

The opinions expressed in the comments do NOT represent the opinions of theFrontSteps, the editor, or any “contributors”, unless stated otherwise as an “Editor’s note”, or unless that “contributor” cares to take part in the discussion and makes it clear the “contributor” is the same person commenting.

If we make a post and you are concerned with what has been said in the comments, please contact the editor. We’ll do our best to answer your request, but no comments will be deleted from this day forward.

If you, at some point, find yourself not enjoying the comments, don’t read them anymore.

As always, if you have a story or tip you’d like published to the front page of our site, please send it here. On occasion, we may pull a comment from the “thread” to appear on the front page.

Otherwise, we wish you healthy discussions, and arguments. Please don’t turn this into a Craigslist Housing Forum, and please, please, please be civil and respect your fellow readers.

Sincerely,
Alex Clark (the editor)
