Real Estate Apps For The iPhone

We’ve taken the plunge into the land of real estate apps for the iPhone, and (for San Francisco) are still waiting for nirvana. We’ve had the Trulia App for a while, and although it is nice with all kinds of bells and whistles, there is enough inaccuracy (the Open House info has yet to be accurate and up to date for our listings, and price changes are not accurate or timely) to question whether it is even worth keeping on hand (literally), but we’re still poking around on it, and not giving up hope because the folks at Trulia generally do good things.
We’ve already tested other Apps like Pulawai, but found them to be less than stellar, so let’s see how Zillow does for San Francisco. Trulia almost has it right (for them it likely comes down to more frequent feeds from MLS), so can Zillow outdo them?
Just today we’ve downloaded the much hullaballooed Zillow App and will report back shortly. In the meantime, feel free to let us know what you think.

For those with MLS access, the SFAR MLS iPhone web app is decent:

Hold on now! Haven’t seen that one. Is that an App, or just web access via pda?

Hi Alex!
Thanks for using the Trulia iPhone app. The data on the app should be the same as the data on the site. If it’s inaccurate on the site, maybe it’s a feed issue. If so, I like to resolve that for you. If you can email me an example, that would be great.

Thanks,
Rudy
PS – Stay tuned for our next version of the Trulia iPhone app….

Talking Open House accuracy, and current pricing, DOM. Just look into it. I don’t recall the exact properties for all of the issues, but I did notice my listing at 2185 Bush didn’t show in your OH last weekend, when, in fact, it was in MLS and certainly Open. I can see that as being very powerful if that is 100% accurate.

Thank you for a great post.
There is another useful real estate and mortgage app that you might want to check out, iQualify Pro. It is a new mortgage calculator on the App Store. Has a powerful feature that allows real estate or loan professionals to pre-qualify their clients in seconds based on their income and other factors such as debt ratios. Great app, but need UI improvement.
