would you want the house next to you bailed out or sitting with a bank owned sign in the front yard which will bring your property value down?what happened happened so lets correct it and get the values back up , hopefully in 10 years!people buying up the forclosures will be rich then, so of course they dont want people to get bailouts. lets bailout some more banks, yea that really worked well!!!

Obama would do well to allow judges to re-adjust mortgage loans on a case by case basis. No cheating the system: those who can pay should pay, maybe just less by the month

I don’t know how to answer that. Countrywide lost a class action lawsuit and these adjustments are part of the settlement terms. In that light, one could argue that it’s indeed very fair. But I know what you mean.

Usually: I have to agree the language is strange there. It seems to imply help for some, deemed helpless, and not for others, deemed as “they should have known better.” How could we say which is which.

I think it’s going to be relatively easy for Countrywide borrowers. I can’t speak for others.
