  1. I know at least three I would recommend very highly. Depending upon availabilty, they’re all great and competitive.

  2. If you live in a multi-unit building, make sure the GC has good insurance to cover you as they will be going through common area to get to your unit. You don’t want any damage they make to common area to be paid for by you. Your HOA may have specific minimums when it comes to this insurance. Also make sure that they can follow building rules regarding construction so that you don’t get fined constantly. Make sure that they clean up well too. – Whomever you end up going with.

  3. send em my way fluj. i want folks with san francisco experience.

thanks dede. this is our second time in the same building.

  4. i believe there is one in your building, blue castle construction. maybe #705? try google. at least you know he’d be there…

  5. competent(and incompetent) SF Contractors start at $100 per hour (attitude

    included)

  6. I do not include attitude for $100/hr; but you seem to be copping an attitude for free nthn so I suppose you would be a good hire.

  7. I am the electrical contractor (Stewven McKee of Pro Electric) that wired 3100 Pacific And 3130 Pacific. Don’t believe the hype if your told “Engineered Environments” did the wiring because it’s B.S.! The fact is that there was not any lighting control drawings or even Low Voltage (I.E. networking or Home Automation Drawings) at all. The interior designers (Steven Justrich) friend made an attempt at a Grafik Eye Plan but bungled outrageousley on Load Calculations, device layout and almost everything else. The plan was horrendous to say the least.

    The reality was this:

Pro Electric submitted a bid on a set of Mocked up “Designer” drawings for both of those houses. The bid was accepted and construction began. I quickly arrived at the point where I needed to move forward with the lighting design and so forth. The change orders added up quickly and I pre- wired for any type of Home Automation design that might be used since I had been told that they were interviewing several candidates for the job. That’s where Engineered Environments entered the scene. I had already completed the wiring and they utilized what I had layed out to the best of their abilities. I will not take anything away from them they were definately competent and thourough as any Company I’ve worked with or for and I would give them a recommendation anytime with only one warning ,”Bring your wallets to the table when you call.” The prices were Astrinomical.” You get what you pay for and there high end Contractoras make no mistake on that!

Now for the saddest news and a warning to any fellow Sparky’s out there in San Francisco,”Don’t work for Christopher Vincent or Vincent Construction Company Inc.” They were the Owners and Developers for those Pacific Properties and they agreed to all the change orders and even signed all the papers presented to them. i HAD NO IDEA THAT THEY HAD NO REAL INTENTION OF EVER PAYING FOR THOSE CHANGES AND I GOT STIFFED ON MY RETAINAGE ($19800.00) AND MOST OF MY CHANGE ORDERS ($18,654) . I WAS TOLD AFTER THE PROPERTY AT 3100 pACIFIC HAD BEEN SOLD MY COMPENSATION WOULD BE DISCUSSED. REMEBER THAT THEY HAD ALREADY AGREED TO MY SUBMITTED CHANGE ORDERS. VINCENT CONSTRUCTION SAID THAT THEY HAD BEEN FIRED BY THE NEW OWNERS AND ACCORDING TIO THERE AIA CONTRACT THEY NO LONGER HAD TO PAY ME ANYHING BECAUSE OF THE PREMATURE ENDING OF WORK. THE NEW OWNERS WERE HIRING ANOTHER COMPANY TO INSTALL THE FINAL TRIM.

i GOT F—ED! i ALSO HAD ALL OF MY TOOLS OVER $11,000.00 DOLLARS WORTH TAKEN FROM THE JOBSITE WHILE THIS TRANSPIRED AND VINCENT CONSTRUCTION USED MY EXISTING ELECTRICAL PERMIT ON 3100 PACIFIC TO CALL FOR A FINAL INSPECTION AFTER HE FIRED ME BECAUSE HE HAD BEEN,”FIRED!” I FELL INTO DEBT WITH ALL OF MY SUPPLY HOUSES AND COULD NOT KEEP UP WITH MY MARKETING EXPENSES AND NEXT THING YOU KNOW I’M WORKING ALONE AND HARDER THAN I HAVE EVER HAD TO JUST TO FEED MY FAMILY(MY WIFE, SIX SMALL CHILDREN:FIVE BOYS & ONE GIRL). i AM STILL STRUGGLING TO KEEP MY HOME WHICH HAS RECENTLY FALLEN INTO DEFAULT FOR THE THIRD TIME AND I HAVEN’T THE TIME TO NOR MEANS TO TAKE LEGAL ACTION. MY TIME HAS BEEN SPENT, LITERALLY, TRYING TO KEEP FOOD ON THE TABLE.

So if youm managed to read all of this posting and are in need of a competent, fair, experienced, high end Electrical Contractor with low end pricing, look no further. I do any job large or small. I mean any job too, even change a lightbulb if such is your desire. Or if you know someone doing Pro-Bono work or willing to work on contingency or even trade my services for representation fee’s call me, PLEASE.

    Sincerely,

    Steven Richard McKee PRO ELECTRIC
